Dr. Kevin Quaranta

Dr. J. Kevin Quaranta (pronounced “Core-on-tuh” and means “40” in Italian) was born in Chicago in 1965. His family lived in Tucson from 1971 to 1978. They then returned to Chicago where he attended Amos Alonzo Stagg High School in Palos Hills.

His introduction to eye care began in the early 1980’s when he worked as an optician at Montgomery Ward Optical in Orland Park, IL. He did volunteer work in Sao Paulo, Brazil from 1984 to 1986.

Dr. Quaranta received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Brigham Young University in 1992 and his Doctor of Optometry Degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 1996. He completed his training with Dr. Richard Yee at the Hermann Eye Hospital in Houston, Texas and at Luke Air Force Base Hospital in Litchfield Park, Arizona. He practiced at Southwestern Eye Center since 1997, managing patients pre- and post-operatively, monitoring diabetic retinopathy, treating glaucoma (under the tutelage of Dr. John Lewis), and multiple other ocular diseases and visual conditions. He has worked closely with eye surgeons in caring for pre and post-surgical patients. He has specialized training in the fitting of scleral contact lenses which allows him to treat patients with more advanced corneal disease, for which no other option exists.

He is certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry in the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease and is licensed by the Arizona Board of Optometry. He is a member of the American and Arizona Optometric Associations, The Scleral Lens Education Society, and the Chandler Chamber of Commerce. His areas of special clinical interest include the diagnosis and management of glaucoma, monitoring diabetic retinopathy, and treating the moderate to severe dry eye patient. He also enjoys helping people obtain and maintain the best vision possible, using glasses, contact lenses, or refractive surgery.

Dr. Quaranta’s strengths include his friendly enjoyment of people, his willingness to take the time to understand your expectations and needs, and his years of experience providing intense primary and secondary eye care. For over 19 years he has developed a network of eye surgeons of various specialties, including cataract, cornea, glaucoma, retina, and oculoplastics. He enjoys bringing people solutions to eye problems that will bring them the greatest happiness.

Dr. Quaranta and his wife, Tiffany, live in Chandler and have four daughters, all married, three graduated from college, and one finishing in 2021. They three grandchildren. He enjoys, history, politics, religion, fitness, Italian books and movies, motorcycling, pretending to be Keith Urban with the guitar, and scuba diving, and pondering the meaning of life. He speaks near fluent Portuguese due to his years living in Brazil. He speaks intermediate Italian and he’s also able to perform eye exams in Spanish.

Dr. Fox

We’re excited to welcome Dr. Fox to our team! A dedicated and compassionate optometrist, Dr. Fox brings a strong commitment to comprehensive eye care and a passion for helping patients achieve their best vision and ocular health.

Dr. Fox has a special interest and advanced training in the management of glaucoma, dry eye disease, and specialty contact lenses, including scleral and ortho-k lenses. With a personalized approach to care, Dr. Fox is known for taking the time to listen to each patient’s unique concerns and providing tailored solutions that fit their lifestyle and visual needs.

Whether managing chronic eye conditions, fitting complex contact lenses, or conducting routine eye exams, Dr. Fox’s goal is to ensure every patient feels informed, comfortable, and cared for.

Faye

Doctor’s Assistants

Faye has been with us since February 2021. She assists the doctor with patients, runs tests, fits contacts, and helps with patient care.

She is always laughing and having a good time. She just had her first baby and updated us daily on her daughter’s milestones. Dian and Faye are always laughing with patients. I wonder how much work they get done.

Cole

Cole is a dispensing optician at Sonoran Desert Eye Center, bringing over five years of experience and a keen eye for style to every patient interaction. Blending precision with creativity, Cole loves helping people discover confidence through eyewear that reflects who they are— not just how they see. Outside the optical world, Cole channels the same sense of design and challenge into rebuilding a 1959 Ford Fairlane and exploring interior design projects. Whether fine-tuning a lens fit or restoring classic lines, Cole thrives on turning vision into art.

Eddie

Optician & Optical Lab Specialist

With over 12 years of experience in the optical field, Eddie brings a wealth of knowledge and hands-on expertise to every aspect of vision care. Throughout his career, he has worked as an optician, optometric technician, and lab specialist, gaining a deep understanding of both patient care and the craftsmanship behind creating quality eyewear.

Eddie’s true passion lies in the art of making glasses—ensuring each pair is perfectly crafted to meet every patient’s unique needs. Known for his attention to detail and commitment to excellence, he takes pride in helping people see and feel their best.

Outside of work, Eddie enjoys spending time outdoors, meeting new people, and embracing new adventures. A proud dog dad and animal lover, he’s happiest when exploring nature with his four-legged companion by his side.

Jose

Jose is a dedicated optician with over two years of experience, known for his keen eye for detail and passion for helping patients look and feel their best. He takes pride in providing personalized styling advice, ensuring each patient leaves with eyewear that not only improves their vision but complements their unique style.

Beyond the optical world, Jose has a creative side—he enjoys producing engaging content for social media platforms, particularly TikTok, where he combines humor, trends, and educational insights from his profession. A horror movie enthusiast and lover of spontaneous road trips, Jose brings energy, creativity, and positivity to every environment he’s part of. His approachable personality and commitment to creating a happy and satisfying experience make him a valued presence both in and out of the workplace.

Noemi

Noemi is our dedicated optometric assistant, bringing warmth, empathy, and a patient-centered approach to every interaction. She listens carefully, explains procedures clearly, and ensures patients feel welcomed, comfortable, and at ease from check-in to check-out. Her friendly, optimistic demeanor helps make each visit a positive experience.

Beyond the office, Noemi is an artist who loves to draw, fueling her creativity and attention to detail—a trait that shines in her work with patients. She’s also a proud fur mom to her small Chihuahua, Athena, and enjoys fishing in her spare time. Noemi’s blend of compassion, curiosity, and precision makes her an invaluable member of our team.
